The Museum of the Earth JUNA – Walońska Watchtower is located in the Kamienna River Valley along the main road leading to Szklarska Poręba. It is a unique place showcasing the mining traditions of the region. The history presented here dates back to medieval times when specialists in identifying and extracting mineral resources – known as Walonowie – arrived in the Sudetes. Within the museum’s halls, visitors can learn about what Karkonosze alchemists and herbalists worked on. Additionally, there is an exceptional collection of colorful minerals, many sourced from local deposits. Workshops focused on minerals are also available for those interested. The museum features a mineralogical shop offering specimens for collectors as well as unique items crafted from minerals and silver. Visitors are invited to explore this extraordinary place that combines history, geology, and craftsmanship while preserving the rich heritage of treasure hunting in the Sudetes.
